CATS can Relieve Stress

For a number of years, I have been teaching “Get a Grip in Stress, Anxiety and Worry ” in churches, communities and for businesses and corporations. I am now wrapping up a book by the same name. Over the next several weeks, I will be posting tidbits of helpful information that will help you identify and push back the impact of Stress, Anxiety and Worry.

Have you ever notice that people, as a general rule of thumb tend to be either dog or cat people? I am a dog kind of guy; there have been dogs in my life as long as I can remember. I guess both nature and nurture had a lot to do with that. With that being said, I am certainly not a cat person. It has nothing to do with cats as much as it has to do with the allergic reaction, the red, teary eyes, the runny nose, the sneezing and all of the other stuff that my body does when it is around these warm fur balls.

Cats draw all sorts of unfortunate remarks because people either love them or not. For me, I think they are the most independent house pet you can have.  When was the las time your pet cat came running to you, tail wagging, mouth watering. If anything your cat gave you a snide remark and demanded to be fed. You know the routine, they will rub up against your leg until they get what they want, and once they get it, they disappear. Think about the word CATS, because this little word can be an essential memory tool that will help you manage Stress, Anxiety and Worry in “real time.”

Recently, while I was being introduced to a number of soldiers the Major who was introducing me asked, “Hey Mr. Thurman do you have any quick tips on Stress Management?” I said, Yes I do, prepare to copy.

One of the most effective, quick ways to manage your stress is to Manage Your C.A.T.S.
